The electrolysis method is used to treat industrial circulating cooling water.Through electrolysis,a high concentration of hydroxide ions is formed near the cathode.This high pH environment allows the already scaled minerals to pre scale and precipitate from the water,playing a role in softening the water.At the same time,hydroxyl radicals are generated at the anode,converting chloride ions into free chlorine and some hydroxide ions into trace amounts of ozone,playing a role in algae killing and antibacterial effects.

This electrolytic water system has been widely used in inland power plant circulating water systems,central/central air conditioning circulating water systems,and large-scale industrial circulating water fields.
